Thanks Sean. I really like the methodical approach you take, and your ideas for what tactics and effort are appropriate for each stage. It requires restraint not to go for growthgrowthgrowth too early, which isn't always the strong suit of our field either on the entrepreneur or investor side of things, but it makes a lot of sense to me.

Hey Giff, thanks for the shout out in the post. It's great to see your concrete examples that support many of the principles that we blog about. I don't think we'll ever have it completely figured out, but finding ways to bring some order to the chaos really helps. I always wish I could provide more specific examples from my past experiences but I'm worried about violating trust and confidentiality agreements. Really appreciate you sharing the details of your past experiences.

thank you Brian. I have scars indeed, but it has also been an amazing journey with some great people and some wonderful highs. It's funny -- I've always had passion and work ethic, but if anything now, with the help of some of the names I mentioned, I feel like I have more balance as well as more awareness of the fundamentals at work. It's a good thing. The jury is still out on Aprizi, but I really do believe we are doing this smarter.

Giff,

What a fantastic post. When you were telling me snippets of your story a couple of months back, I couldn't help but think "Wow, this is a real veteran. Aprizi's going to do well with all the lessons learned."

I especially enjoy the retrospection in the lens of customer development. Mistakes and successes can seem easy to explain in hindsight but when your nose is buried in the middle of everything, it's difficult to have clarity. I like to think of learning from past experience as slowly growing a platform from which we can see the forest for the trees :)
